KRIS DE PLECKER

Kris works both two- and three-dimensionally and uses a variety of techniques: drawing, photography, woodcut, collage.... In his work he explores the concept of space. Vertical and horizontal are striking visual characteristics. He strives for simplicity of form by excluding superfluous elements and arriving at strong, purified compositions that are situated on the edge of abstraction and figuration. Starting points are architecture and nature. Taut versus lyrical, black and white versus color.
